The project goal was to improve living conditions in a dated ranch house without changing the building envelope. Ceilings were low, rooms were dark, and living spaces were isolated from each other.
The solution was to raise and shape the ceilings within the existing roofs. This let rooms feel larger and brought light into the center of the house. Openings were created to connect spaces and sight lines.
