The Master Plan goal for Sacred Heart was to define a cohesive high school campus - inviting, safe, and conducive to learning - within a unique central-city neighborhood of San Francisco.
The process allowed the client to understand and prioritize the development opportunities it had within its own properties, and also established potential development scenarios for neighboring sites in the coming years.
Because the campus spanned several blocks and two regulatory jurisdictions, Case+Abst Architects worked to preview the Master Plan 2020 with the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency and the San Francisco Planning Department in order to gain their input and Master Plan approval. Now, as individual campus projects proceed through design and construction phases, it is easier to obtain permit approvals because of the early participation and understanding of the governing agencies. |
