The process to develop a Master Plan helps clients and their colleagues determine their own destiny. The final Master Plan is actually a visual and written report of work that was undertaken by clients and the architect to look at a site’s purpose, options for building and site development, plans to stage the work over time, fundraising goals, and construction implementation strategies.
Case+Abst Architects found, during the Master Planning process, that its client, Easter Seals Bay Area, owned more land than originally thought and controlled additional land through easements. These facts enabled C+A to suggest improved development and neighborhood negotiation scenarios that were more compelling to donors and parents than an original thought to merely upgrade existing and tired portable classrooms. |
