The program required a 350,000 square foot building to house both general administrative offices and "classified" document work areas. The two departments were not to be joined, but were to occupy the same site. The current vacant site had a diagonal "shortcut" to the nuclear submarine repair yard that was used by hundreds of workers each day.
The solution was two complimentary towers with a central circulation core to serve both departments. The "shortcut" path to the repair yard was maintained. |
